After visiting my mom at work and having lunch with her in a long while, I drove by Moss Landing State Beach for the first time and was immediately drawn to the immense waves crashing on the rocks at the beach. It was like nothing I had seen before. I had my camera out by the time I made it up the hill and saw the ocean. I tried staring out into the horizon as if I'd hoped to see Hawaii on the other side, but was deterred by the strong sand gusts blowing into my face. I was absolutely impressed by the forces of nature that were at play and I couldn't help thinking how this is one of the many things I live for. I was reminded how truly challenging it can be to do photography out in the midst of real-life conditions as such.
