I generally like seeing Nanjing road like this late at night when there's just a few dozen people walking around and the flashing neon lights are toned down a bit, giving the atmosphere a more somber mood. Typically, when I see the city like this, I instinctively get panicked because I know it's getting very late and the subways are about to shut down pretty soon. And before I know it, I find myself paying a whole meal's worth of money to hitch a ride on the taxi back to the university.
Shanghai's nights are insanely beautiful though and it's never usually so hot like it in Beijing during the summer! That and the amazingly delicious street food you can get on most corners around the city, how could you ever grow weary of a place like this?!
